Pentre Riding Stables is situated in the lovely Upper Swansea Valley in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, an area specially designated for its outstanding natural beauty. Pentre offers a perfect base for horse riding, and a place to enjoy a holiday, overnight stay or short break at our Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
We take great pride in providing a friendly, welcoming experience at our family-run riding school. We are located opposite the stunning and historic Craig y nos Castle. With acres of off-road hacking through woodlands, fields, and both grass and all-weather gallops, there is something for everyone.
Every day offers the chance to experience more wonderful views and the fresh clean air of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Getting out into the unspoilt hills is easy, when you take to the saddle. Not only are we well served by bridle paths, but Pentre Riding Stables also has access to mile after mile of "open hill" where you will be guided across less obvious trails.
Lesson bookings are made via email or whatsapp, please do not telephone during the day - as we may be out on lessons and telephone reception can be poor! New clients will be required to complete a rider registration form.
Pentre has been a Riding Stables and Trekking Centre for many years. We also offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation adjoining Pentre Farmhouse. This is ideal for singles, couples and families wishing to combine a comfortable B&B or self catering break with horse-riding and lots of other outdoor activities.

Fabulous experience horse riding at Pentre. Family of 7 booking age range 5 to 45 with only 1 person having any experience. It was superb, beautiful scenery whilst riding. Great friendly reassuring staff who put the nervous riders at ease. Lovely tame gentle horses, perfect for 1st timers. Biggest surprise, the teenage boys absolutely loved it. Would def recommend if you holidaying in the area.

The best weekend! Family room perfect, comfortable and hosts very welcoming and friendly. Went on two hack’s which were brilliant and explored the mountains. Local cafe 3 miles away (loaf) does amazing breakfast. Planning our next stay already.

Great pony trek arranged with Kirsty. We did a 1.5 hour trek around the local area and the horses were so well behaved. Our 4 and 7 year old children loved it despite having no real previous riding experience. Would definitely recommend to those in the area.

Karen was very accommodating when we had a nightmare with other accommodation. Our room was originally booked for 2 people but we were allowed to add a 3rd at last minute thanks to Karen. Comfy accommodation that allows dogs too.

Thanks so much to Kirsty and the team for giving us the best horse riding experience this morning. I went with my mother and two young sons (5 & 8) so all age groups were covered! They took great care with us all and more importantly made sure we had a fantastic time. Would HIGHLY recommend.
